Founded by Ian Westrip OAM in 1996, Stage Door School of Performing Arts is one of Perth’s oldest and most respected performing arts institutions. Stage Door has a reputation for helping young people foster a love and appreciation for the arts, as well as helping them to achieve their goals of going to performing arts academies around the world and working professionally in the industry.
At Stage Door we believe that fun and confidence is the essence of all great performers and that is what we set out to achieve through all of our classes, courses and workshops.
With our younger students, we focus on building their confidence and teamwork skills through acting, singing and musical theatre. Part of our ethos at Stage Door is to create and foster an inclusive and safe environment for all students; everyone deserves to have a go and so we deliver our classes in an unpretentious and fun manner!
For our older students, we focus on developing their skills as a performer and offer extensive industry advice. Our WACE courses are aimed at providing an edge for students who wish to continue on to university level courses or the professional performing arts industry.
Our team have all had wide-ranging experience in the performing arts industry both in Australia and internationally, so all students receive teachings of the highest quality.
